This weekend, I went to the emergency room. For those who know me, this can be a pretty normal thing for me. Besides having Parkinson’s disease, I was diagnosed with colon cancer at age 24, which lead me to 14 surgeries in three years. If you are asking “Why is this post titled ‘Silver lining’ because so far it sounds like baby poo lining”, just hang on its getting better!
After a bunch of tests and medical professionals peering down at me, they concluded I had a kidney stone and cyst the size of an orange. Wait, I promise it is getting better. So I was told to “rest and take it easy”, which I translated to mean, “watch a ‘Kim and Kourtney take Miami’ marathon (watching the Kardashians always make me feel better about my life), while eating obscene amounts of ice cream.” I think I am spot on.
I always try to find the silver lining to all the challenges I may face. I had to dig pretty deep for this one, but I think I came up with it! Once I pass my kidney stone, I can keep it and make it a necklace, then when people ask about the beautiful stone around my neck, I can tell them “I made it”! We can not change the struggles we face in life, but we can always make fun of it!
